Whether you're feeling a quick tour, or a tour and Lunch... We've got you covered with either one of these experiences.
TOUR POCKET CITY FARMS + HAVE A CUPPA
Feeling a casual morning stroll through the farm? This one's for you.
We'll start by sitting down for a cuppa and having a yarn overlooking the farm in the demonstration garden, which replicates what can be achieved at home even if you live in a big city or urban environment. We'll then move out onto the farm and as we explore, I'll share tips on how to grow your own food and create a diverse ecosystem in your personal spaces; from keeping native bees to setting up a worm farm and composting system. I'll also share our story of why we’re farming in the city, the benefits of urban farming, and our daily operations and farming methods.
Camperdown is filled with an environmentally aware, open-minded & friendly community and loads of interesting things to do no matter what your interests are. After the tour, I can give you pointers about some amazing local places to check out that are all within walking distance of Pocket City Farms.
URBAN FARM + FEAST
Learn, harvest and feast at Sydney's first urban farm. We're collaborating with Airbnb to hold rare 'paddock to plate' experiences in a fast paced city scape.
We'll start by showing you our demo garden, which replicates what can be achieved at home - be it balcony or backyard. You will then be taken around the farm where tips will be shared on how to grow your own food and create a diverse eco-system in your personal spaces. From keeping native bees to setting up a worm farm or composting system.
You will harvest some of our organic veg and herbs while learning about the importance of seasonality. These harvested goods will then be transformed into lunch by chefs at acre, the restaurant that shares the site with us.
You will enjoy the delicious lunch while overlooking the farm with a beer or wine in hand. What could be better? Whether you're a local and want to immerse yourself in a community space, or a curious traveller, this is an experience not to be missed.
