In this hands-on workshop, kids will have the opportunity to create their own living play garden filled with natural and botanical materials along with fairies and/or dinosaurs. Children will take home their own creations to continue the magic and fun interactive play at home.
Kids, join us on a journey through the plant world. Go on a plant hunt around the farm with magnifying glasses, to explore the many different margins and ‘designs’ that leaves have. Then compare and contrast the leaves found on the hunt and create beautiful collages with them.
Indigo is the colour of wisdom, clarity, and deep inner knowing. Join us for a Sunday afternoon session as we share in the brilliant hues of one of the oldest natural plant dyes in the world, indigo dyeing, which has an alchemy and process especially unique to this 'queen plant'.
A day spoon carving with Spoonsmith is an unhurried and mellow experience where you learn to use the tools of the trade in a safe and effective way. This workshop will guide you through the stages of axe work, knife work and hollowing out the bowl (that exciting part of the day when the spoon emerges). Everyone starts with a log of sustainably sourced native timber and ends up with a spoon or two! And all the shavings will be composted at our farm!
