ROSEMARY
Salvia rosmarinus
Rosemary is an attractive perennial herb with needle like leaves and white, pink purple or blue flowers that easily grows in garden beds or pots. When growing Rosemary, provide them with well-drained, sandy soil and at least six to eight hours of sunlight. These plants thrive in warm, humid environments and cannot take extremely cold temperatures.
PLANT
Between August to November.
HARVEST
Rosemary is ready for harvest within a week from planting. Once established rosemary can be harvested all year round. Can grow up to 1.5-2m tall, but you can find dwarf or low-growing forms, like Rosmarinus ‘Prostratus’ that only reach 20-30 cm high.
EAT
Whole sprigs of rosemary may be added to stews or used in spread, butter or tossed with pasta.
PRESERVE
Rosemary is very hardy so simply cut or pick leaves by hand as you need leaving enough on plant for it to grow continually. Rosemary is also very easily naturally dried once picked.
RECIPES
Make your own rosemary syrup for this mimosa with a twist.
