COMMUNITY COMPOST CARERS
We're seeking a couple of keen people to work alongside PCF to manage a new community compost program we’ve established Camperdown farm in 2020.
The Compost Carers will assist with the coordination of building new compost piles, turning over, maintaining records and encouraging and facilitating the involvement of local community members for food waste drop offs and pile turning. Who needs a gym when you can do an outdoor workout on the farm! Any previous knowledge of composting is great, but not essential, the opportunity to learn with the PCF team will be provided ongoing.
Time requirements are an hour or two each week. Please note, this is a volunteer position, and a unique opportunity to be involved in helping build an integrated and fairer food system in our city.
Please send all expressions of interest to be involved to Jacqui at jacqui@pocketcityfarms.com.au.
Coronavirus changes: Due to current circumstances numbers are capped so that we have space for maintaining physical distancing on the farm.
To take care of yourself and others, consider wearing a mask. Volunteers will be asked to read and agree to our Covid-19 policy and procedures before starting work on the farm. Overall we want to maintain the opportunity for you to enjoy a morning on the farm and the many benefits that come with it, while ensuring everyone can stay safe. Thanks for your help in this.
