To celebrate the mothers in our community, we’re welcoming children to a workshop that celebrates the bounty of the season, living joyful sustainability, and celebrating mothers! Together mothers and children will harvest delicious carrots on the farm, and then children will get to paint a cotton vegetable storage bag to keep veggies fresh in the fridge.

We’ll be opening our stall for one day of Christmas produce pick-ups – helping your festivities to be local, organic and super fresh!

We’re excited to be joining many of our favourite local businesses this year at the Carriageworks Christmas Market, the weekend before Christmas!

Spend an evening on the farm with Caroline Trickey from Healthy Home Cafe and learn about the much loved world of pickles & preserves. You will learn how to prepare and preserve vinegar based pickles and quick-pickles of seasonal vegetables from Pocket City Farms, and take home a three of jars of your own handmade pickles to gift. 

Come make beautiful handmade ornaments from salt dough. Not only does working with dough strengthen children’s fine motor skills, it also contributes to focus and calm. In this workshop your child will have the opportunity to make three salt dough ornaments, impressed with patterns from pinecones and leaves.

Spend the evening on the farm with Margaret from Moss House learning to make natural skin care products from scratch. 

Join our Christmas gift workshop series – this one’s for the kids! They’ll have the chance to get crafty, printing using potato stamps onto reusable calico produce bags to take home and gift their loved ones. Calico produce bags are a great alternative to plastic at the super market, and also help keep your veggies fresh in the fridge. And who doesn't love potato stamps!?

Spend an evening with a beverage on the farm with Emily from Warre Wraps. You’ll learn about the benefits of wax procured from the Natural beekeeping methods, and get your hands in to making beeswax wraps from start to finish. 

In this workshop you will be creating and designing with Shibori and Indigo on your own shawl + Furoshiki wrapping cloths - a traditional Japanese technique to package and transport gifts - as a sustainable alternative to wrapping paper! The wraps are a beautiful and environmentally friendly way to gift-give, and can be used over and over again for other occasions.
